The article presents materials about international professional organizations in the field of gerontology and geriatrics, which form the agenda in development of care about older generation, shows the role of geriatric oncology in this process. The importance of including geriatric oncology in routine care and the role of comprehensive geriatric assessment for the purpose of prescribing targeted therapy in order to achieve the highest possible quality of life are emphasized.
