The main task of modern gerontology is to ensure a high-quality decent life, with the maximum possible preservation of its functionality and independence. Concept rendering of modern geriatric care within long-term care should be a team approach, where help is the doctor, nurses, a social worker, a volunteer of the elderly man and his family. The article presents the experience of the Belgorod region in the implementation of the models of the World Health Organization in the region.
