Summary:
The relevance of arterial hypertension (AH) is defined by its high population rate, the impact on the health, performance and longevity of the population. The prevalence of hypertension in persons older than 65 years exceeds 50%. In patients with hypertension over 60 years showed increased mortality from cardiovascular diseases at 2-3. Despite a sufficient number of affordable and effective anti-hypertensive drugs, the incidence of poor control of blood pressure remains high. Conclusively proven that the cornerstone of the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions is self-monitoring of blood pressure and a daily dose of medication. Inadequate controls can cause the development of orthostatic reactions in these patients, which helps to change the quality of life of the patient. High blood pressure changes the quality of life (QoL) of the patient, as an integral characteristic of the various areas of its operation. Determining the level is a valuable method for assessing the health of a person, both on an individual and group level. The aim of determining the level of self-rated health in elderly patients with hypertension were hospitalized in the cardiology department. The level of self-rated health, said men who are treated in the cardiology department was significantly higher compared with those in women. The results obtained in this group may be related to socio-psychological factors and a more demanding attitude to the level of women's health.
Keywords hypertension, quality of life, self-reported health.
